Charlotte Sung is the Chief Executive Officer of the Agency for Volunteer Service (AVS), a Hong Kong-based non-profit organization leading the advancement of sustainable volunteerism through facilitating and mobilizing quality volunteer service. Qualified as a Chartered Engineer, Charlotte spent the early years of her career in the Hong Kong SAR Government managing construction projects. With a strong interest in international peace and development, Charlotte then undertook two volunteering assignments with the United Nations Peacekeeping Missions in Liberia and the Democratic Republic of Congo, designing and supervising security-related infrastructure projects in a post-conflict context. Prior to joining AVS in 2019, Charlotte worked as a Contracts Management Officer at the UN Logistics Base in Brindisi Italy, and as the Head of Operations of the UNICEF Hong Kong office. Charlotte has obtained her master’s degrees in Civil Engineering, Development Studies, and Chinese Politics.
